Title: ASIL Insights: Terrorist Attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon
Available From: http://www.asil.org/insigh77.cfm
Last Updated: 2001-09-30
Description: In the immediate aftermath of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, Frederic Kirgis addressed, in this September 2001 ASIL Insight, international law issues pertaining to responses to 9/11.
He points out that "International law issues could arise if and when the United States or any of its allies takes countermeasures against a country suspected of harboring the persons responsible for the terrorist acts of September 11. The issues would be particularly acute if the countermeasures are in the form of armed action. "
The Insight is accompanied by over a dozen addenda and comments from other prominent international law experts.
