Description: This international organization was created by the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation, which is the environmental side agreement to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Its members are Canada, Mexico and the United States. The purpose of the CEC is "to address regional environmental concerns, help prevent potential trade and environmental conflicts, and to promote the effective enforcement of environmental law."
The CEC's site provides the text of CEC reports, official documents, and press releases. The Summary of Environmental Law in North America discusses the national environmental laws of each of the member countries.
