Description: | In 1947, the General Assembly requested the International Law Commission to formulate the principles of international law recognized in the Charter and Judgment of the Nurnberg Tribunal. GA res. 177 (II) (1947/11/21). This web site includes the text, analytical guide, and commentaries of the ILC Report to the General Assembly on the final formulation of the Nrnberg Principles. By Resolution, GA res. 488 (V) (1950/12/12), the General Assembly referred the Report to the member states for their consideration. The Nurnberg Principles became the foundation for the ILC's work on the 1954 Draft Code of Offences Against the Peace and Security of Mankind. |
