Description: The Agreement Between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Russian Federation on the Conservation and Management of the Alaska-Chukotka Polar Bear Population recognizes the right of subsistence use of polar bears for native peoples.
The Agreement also establishes a bilateral commission to manage the polar bear population, including the setting of sustainable quotas.
