Description: |
The parties to the Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance agree that an armed attack on any American State is considered an armed attack against all American States, and the parties will assist in meeting the attack according to the right to individual or collective self-defense. In the event of a threat to the integrity of the territory or sovereignty or political independence of an American State, or in the event of a threat that endangers the peace of America, the organ of consultation will meet to agree on measures to be taken. |
