Description: | UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan delivered to the General Assembly this 62-page report as an "agenda to be taken up, and acted upon at the summit" in September 2005 that will review progress in the five years since the Millennium Declaration. It is divided into four main sections, "Freedom from Want" (development), "Freedom from Fear" (security and use of force), "Freedom to Live in Dignity" (human rights and the rule of law), and "Strengthening the United Nations" (which sets out proposals relating to the General Assembly, Security Council, the Human Rights Commission, and more). The UN web site includes a pdf version of the report, as well as an Executive Summary, the Secretary-General's statement to the General Assembly, press releases and other resources. |
