Description: "The Convention provides a comprehensive set of standards and measures to promote international co-operation and domestic efforts in the fight to prevent corruption. It includes provisions applying to the public sector such as criteria for public procurement, rules for recruitment and hiring of civil servants in the public administration as well as rules applying to the private sector. The Convention binds ratifying countries to criminalize corrupt practices, develop institutions to prevent corrupt practices and prosecute offenders."
