Description: The Comite Maritime International (CMI) developed the Rules on Electronic Bills of Lading (the Rules) to overcome various problems with paper bills of lading in complex shipping transactions.
By agreeing to operate under the Rules, parties accept electronic documents instead of the traditional paper bills of lading.
