Description: The Dayton Accords consist of a main agreement and eleven annexes with agreements on substantive issues. The Accords provide for the cessation of hostilities, the establishment of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia as sovereign independent states, a constitution for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and agreements on elections, human rights and refugees. Military authority for ensuring the implementation of the peace agreement was transferred to a multinational military Implementation Force (IFOR), and civilian authority for implementing the agreements was given to the High Representative.
