Title: Trade and Climate Change: WTO-UNEP Report
Available From: http://www.wto.org/english/res_e/booksp_e/trade_climate_change_e.pdf
Description: The report published jointly by the United Nations Environment Programme and the World Trade Organization examines the connections between trade and climate change from four perspectives: the science of climate change; economics; multilateral efforts to tackle climate change; and national climate change policies and their effect on trade. The report summarizes the current state of scientific knowledge on climate change; and assesses the economic aspects of the link between trade and climate change. The section on international policy discusses the role of the trade and environment negotiations in promoting trade in technologies that aim to mitigate climate change. The final part of the report gives an overview of a range of national policies and measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to increase energy efficiency, with a goal of promoting understanding the effect and potential impact on environmental protection, sustainable development and trade.
