|Title:||ASIL Insights: The WTO Panel on the EC-Biotech Dispute Releases Its Final Report|
|Description:||On September 29, 2006, the World Trade Organization (WTO) panel on the EC-Biotech dispute finally issued its official report, three years after the panel had been established to respond to the complaints of three (the US, Canada, and Argentina) exporters of agricultural and food products containing genetically modified organisms (GMOs). On February 8, 2006, the panel issued an interim report, and the final findings parallel that report, "except for a critical change in the panels position on remedies (recommendations)."
Author Sungjoon Cho explains the legal issues of the panel report, which he points out "raises many interesting legal questions which have not been fully addressed and thus remain controversial."
