|Description:||The Convention for the Conservation of Anadromous Stocks in the North Pacific Ocean establishes a framework for management of, and research on, anadromous fish stocks in the North Pacific Ocean and adjacent seas. To implement its provisions, the Convention established the North Pacific Anadromous Fisheries Commission.
The term "anadromous" refers to fish species that ascend rivers from the sea for breeding. The species covered by this Convention are primarily salmon and one species of trout.
