| Description: | The Convention for the Prevention of Marine Pollution from Land-Based Sources (Paris Convention) was adopted to address marine pollution by discharges of pollutants from land-based sources, watercourses or pipelines. The Paris Convention was replaced by the Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the North-East Atlantic (OSPAR Convention), which entered into force in 1998. The available internet versions have been amended by the Protocol of 26 March 1986. |
