Description: CARICOM was formed in 1973 by the treaty of Chaguaramas which was signed in Trinidad. The group was formed as a movement toward unity in the Caribbean and replaced the Caribbean Free Trade Association. A revision of the Treaty of Chaguaramas was undertaken in the 1990s to institute a greater regional integration to establish a single Caribbean market and economy. Among the information provided on the web site are links to information on the Caribbean Court of Justice, statistics on the Community and links to issues relating to the region. A list of related links organized by topic is also provided.
