Description: Established in 1969, the Andean Community of Nations (CAN) was created to promote greater economic, commercial and political integration under a new Andean Integration System. The Community is comprised of Bolivia, Columbia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela (with Panama having observer status) The web site provides information from the Secretariat about trade in goods, trade in services, the Customs Union, circulation of people in the region, border development, and more. Under the Treaties and Protocols section, there are links to the text of the Cartagena Agreement (the agreement that established the Andean Community), the Sucre Protocol, the Treaty Creating the Court of Justice of the Cartagena Agreement, and other documents. CAN official documents are available as well as statistics and publications. A search engine is available on this site.
