|Description:||This Convention regulates the incineration and dumping at sea of hazardous materials and waste generated on land. Dumping of certain materials is prohibited absolutely; dumping of other materials requires a permit. The Annexes contain lists of materials covered by the Convention.
The Convention was replaced by the 1996 Protocol to the London Convention .
