Description: The Iran-United States Claims Tribunal (IUSCT) was established as one measure of resolving the crisis between Iran and the United States in 1979, which included the freezing of Iranian assets by the U.S. The purpose of the IUSCT is to "provide alternative means for the adjudication of pending commercial claims by United States nationals against Iran and its state enterprises."
