The Rules of Procedure for the Institution of Arbitration and Conciliation Proceedings (the Institution Rules) set forth the requirements for submitting a request for either arbitration or conciliation proceedings before ICSID. These rules regulate “the period of time from the filing of the request to the dispatch of the notice of registration.” (See Institution Rules, Introduction). All subsequent transactions are governed by either the Rules of Procedure for Conciliation Proceedings (Conciliation Rules), or the Rules of Procedure for Arbitration Proceedings (Arbitration Rules), The Institution Rules, the Conciliation Rules, and the Arbitration Rules are available in PDF and HTML format.
