Description: In this Agreement of December 2000, the governments of Ethiopia and Eritrea recommit to the cessation of military hostilities and the threat or use of force, as detailed in the Agreement on Cessation of Hostilities signed in June 2000. Significantly, the Agreement establishes a Boundary Commission and a Claims Commission, mandates the release of prisoners of war and detainees, and sanctions an investigation into the origins of the conflict.
