EFTA was founded by the Stockholm Convention in 1960 by 7 countries with an aim to create a free trade area. Today Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland are members. The Association overseas the EFTA participation in the European Economic Area (EEA). It also maintains the management of the EFTA Convention, the EEA Agreement, and the EFTA free trade agreements. |
